WHAT IS SPIRITUAL HEALING

Spiritual Healing is a complementary therapy and is legal in Great Britain. It is the healing of Mind, Body, and Soul by means of prayer and meditation and the laying on of hands. This can be through direct contact with the patient or by means of Distant or Absent Healing. The laying on of hands has history as old as Man, has had different names, and is practised worldwide. The Healer attunes as a channel for higher energy, which activates the self-healing power of the patient at all relevant levels of their being.

Spiritual Healing is non-denominational and has been carried out by members of all religions throughout the ages, and by humanitarian societies.

All Spiritual Healers endeavour to provide relief from pain and suffering, to promote the patient's well being and encourage self - healing capability. Approved Spiritual Healers in the UK work to a code of ethical conduct accepted by doctors and vets and are insured for their practise with the general public.

Healers never claim to cure, will not medically diagnose, and will work with whatever medical care prescribed by a doctor or vet. All patient records are completely confidential. An approved healer is registered with an authorised association and will provide membership and insurance cover when requested. Healing may be of one individual by another, of a group by one person, of a group by a group, or of one person by a group.

Without any guarantee of cure or part cure can be given, Spiritual Healing can be beneficial to sufferers of any form of disease or illness. Healing is often used to complement other forms of treatment from a GP. It can help to eliminate pain, to reduce stress and anxiety. It can also be given to animals who generally respond well to such treatment.

There are no known side effects. However patients will very often experience a feeling of well being during and after treatment. Most people will experience warmth from the hands of the healer, although occasionally a healer's hands can radiate a cold but still pleasant effect. Healing benefits all, providing balancing energies that can stimulate and calm with lasting effect.

WHO PRACTISES SPIRITUAL HEALING

Any individual so inclined can practise Spiritual Healing. All healers working to BAHA standards complete 2 years of training and monitored healing before attaining full healer status. Healers, in training, work with full healers until they are assessed as being qualified. BAHA is a member of the Confederation of Healing Organisations with members throughout the UK.

Healers treat patients in their own homes as well as at dedicated Healing Centres, Hospitals, Hospices or similar institutions.

Recent legislation now permits a Doctor to recommend a Healer to their patients provided the Doctor retains overall responsibility for patient care.
